FAQ / Errata
G. H. Enterprises Ltd.

Thanks to everyone at Salute 2005, where we officially introduced the published rules to the world. Of course, during the battles played some questions arose.

When do you have to make a second die roll to see if you got a special?

If, after applying all fixed to hit modifiers, but before applying the final to hit die roll modifier, you start in the box (the area enclosed with a dashed line) and you get a hit, you must make a second die roll to see if you get a special. If you roll a one, on the second die roll, you get a special. No hit, means no special.

What is the cumulative effect of "Die Roll" damage?

Damage that occurs may over several turns or distance (die roll inches) is not cumulative. Take the worst case. For example:

  • A ship receives two "On Course Die Roll Inches" specials in the same turn. The two hidden die rolls add up to 6 and 16 inches. The ship will need to move a total of 16 inches ahead next turn, assuming it has the speed to do so.
  • Next turn, assuming the ships speed was 25kts, it would have moved ahead 12.5 inches, leaving another 3.5 inches to move ahead the following turn. Unfortunately the ship receives another "On Course Die Roll Inches" special, but this time it rolls a 3 for distance. It will need to move ahead 3.5 inches ahead (from the previous turns damage) before being able to maneuver freely.

Is there an errata?

Yes and no. We did sell out our first print run at Trumpeter's Salute Convention and will be making another print run with some changes. The rules were pretty solid, we made one clarification. The ship stats required a bit more work. We are in the process of distributing new ship stats to the first buyers, negating the need for an errata at this time.
